Pastor Liz Walker

Pastor Liz Walker

Reverend Liz Walker is a distinguished communicator, pastor, and civic leader whose blend of journalistic clarity and compassionate ministry has made her one of Boston’s most respected voices. She hosts Love Rules where she delivers hope-filled, Scripture-rooted teaching drawn from both personal journey and community insight.

Formerly Boston’s first African-American evening news anchor on WBZ-TV, Walker spent 21 years in broadcast journalism—earning two Emmy Awards and the Edward R. Murrow Award before transitioning to theology and public ministry. After exposure to humanitarian crises in South Sudan, she enrolled at Harvard Divinity School, graduating in 2005, and later became senior pastor of Roxbury Presbyterian Church in 2011, where her leadership bridged media influence with transformative outreach.

Under her pastoral guidance, Roxbury Presbyterian Church launched the Cory Johnson Program for Post‑Traumatic Healing, combating the high rates of community trauma and PTSD through mental health access, education, and trauma recovery initiatives.

On Love Rules, Reverend Walker explores themes of healing, justice, identity, community restoration, and spiritual growth—infused with practical guidance and narrative storytelling that reflects her deep experience as both a journalist and pastor. Whether listeners are navigating grief or seeking purposeful direction, her voice offers encouragement and insight grounded in resilient faith.
